Blegh just watched the Eurovision. I normally think it is a a joke but it actually had some really great acts in it and that boring country Anjajim whatever won. 0_o So many better acts even Jedward were better.

Eastern European bloc voting tbh.

Time to do away with televoting, or at least drop it to 3:1 jury to televote.

Agreed. :colbert: The voting is unfair.

I didn't watch the show, anyway :P But sadly I've fallen into temptation seeing Jedward's performance on youtube xDDD HILARIOUS.

That is why I stopped watching Eurovision. The voting system NEVER change.

We could just allow all the German states to enter separately, along with the different countries in the UK. That's how the Balkans win it.... by splitting up.

I'm just glad Jedward didn't win. They're irritating. They'd only get more irritating if they won.

Yeah a part of me wanted Ireland to win then a part of me realised this is Jedward we are talking about, so I am glad we didn't win because of the reason you stated.

@E K Dante: True. In future I will just watch the acts, then turn it off when the voting takes place as we all know who is going to win.

Speaking of smileys, I do like this one, :thirdchildren:

Paranoia much?

Never stopped to consider that maybe the folks voting in those countries preferred the songs of their closest neighbours? There's a lot of people out there.

Not every talent competition has to be done exactly like Pop Stars.

I feel so learn-ned. Thanks for the correction.

That is true but the problem is there are too many of those neighbouring countries in the voting panel so it is obvious every year one of the "Russian" countries are going to win, besides there was nothing different or traditional with Azerbaijin entry, the song was the same as any ale X-Factor entry.:thirdchildren:

I think it's because most of those countries used to be the same country.

It's like Eurovision incest... keeping it all within one big happy family.

Ok.. Didn't watch it last year. Then there were the years Ireland always won.

It is a running joke that countries will vote for their neighbours and it is all politics. :p At times I feel it can be down to luck. Did anyone notice how crude Ireland are like the UK always gives us loads of points and we give them feck all.

And happen to prefer them over and over again?

Come off it.

They should scale the votes by distance, and/or whether you share a border with the country that they're voting for.

Gah you beat me to it!!!

Doesn't the winner have to host the next eurovision? Wasn't that the reason we sent Jedward?
Now Narnia Azerbaijan has to pay to for the hosting.

... But Germany won last year.

Yet Germany kinda dominated it last year. However, if you notice the results, Azerbaijan finished 5th last year too, and were the very first song of the night.

They were also 3rd in 2009, and 8th in 2008.

If you check their respective Wikipedia pages, you can see who awarded them points in the semis and finals, and it's not much of a surprise who consistently gave lots of points:

You don't think it's possible?

Certainly, I think it's a more reasonable explanation than "Let's not vote for those jerks in that region."

It's like, the reason we sent every act for the last 15 years. Can't be having to pay for that shite every year.

Dartz you are a very amusing person. :p

Ok my verdict who should have won the Eurovision.

Germany's entry very sexy, smooth and different and the singer was hot.

zoRPuk756qU

or Hungary

NbKNKfePCrs

Or Geogia, loved Georgia's act. The singer has a great voice and it is not pop.

aFV0Tcy9OXc

or Estonia really cartoony :p
