I'd like to try lolita out at some point, but the general community is faaaaaar too bitchy to even consider it! I don't know what the Irish community are like, but from what I've heard about other foreign communities there's just something about lolis which attracts drama! ...Although I will admit that I do check loli_secrets every once in a while.

Yeah, the community is pretty awful. Don't know much about the Irish community in specific, but one of the ones who ran the irish EGL group on livejournal was a horrendous bitch to me. Someone assured me she's different in real life, but I don't excuse that kind of begrudgery easily.

I agree. I use to spend a lot of time on lolitasnap and other lolita communities and found the majority extreme elitists even worst then goths. I have been staying away from lolita communities for a few years now.

However I am involved with the Irish EGL and I must say I get on really well with everyone. They are friendly and welcoming.
