Eirtakon FAQ

Who can attend Eirtakon?

Eirtakon is an all-ages event, so everyone is welcome! Almost all events are suitable for a PG-13 audience, however a few events are designed for older attendees and are marked accordingly. Because of this, children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Do I need ID? What forms of ID are accepted?

A valid form of photographic ID with proof of age is required when purchasing or collecting a pass if you wish to acquire an 18+ pass. This additional pass will grant you entry to any events marked as suitable for over-18's only, and will allow you to purchase alcohol at the bar. Bar staff may still at their discretion ask for valid ID, regardless of whether you are in possession of an 18+ pass.

Valid forms of ID include:

  • Passport
  • Driver's license
  • Garda Age Card
  • European national identity card

Can I buy a pass at the door?

Yes, passes are available for purchase at the door. Please note that cash is the only accepted method of payment that is accepted at the door. Please ensure that you have money on-hand before joining the queue to prevent unnecessary delays or hassle.

Is there a limit to how many passes are available?

No, there is no limit. We haven't yet been under the circumstances of having to turn anyone away due to our venue's fire safety limit, so everyone is welcome! If this were to ever change in the future, we will be sure to make this known far enough in advance so that everyone is aware.

Can I pre-register?

You can pre-register weekend passes up until close of pre-registration on our registration page. The registration system is handled by Eventbrite, who accept most credit cards.

Pre-registration is not available for day passes.

How do I collect my pre-registered pass?

When you complete your pre-registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Eventbrite containing a PDF ticket. You need to print and present that ticket at the Front Desk upon arriving at Eirtakon to receive your weekend pass, convention t-shirt, and any additional merchandise you may have ordered.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

You can modify your registration details up until the end of pre-registration. Find your Eirtakon registration order in your "My Tickets" tab on the Eventbrite website, and edit details as necessary.

More detailed instructions are available on the Eventbrite website.

Once pre-registration has closed, the ability to modify your registration details will be disabled. Afterwards, you must contact the Admissions Officer directly by replying to your Eventbrite confirmation e-mail. Please note that any merchandise details, such as t-shirt sizes, cannot be changed once pre-registration has closed.

I can no longer attend Eirtakon, can I get a refund?

Please contact our Registrations Officer before the end of pre-registration. Refunds are at the sole discretion of the Registrations Officer. You can contact the Registrations Officer by replying to the Eventbrite confirmation e-mail, or by selecting "Request Refund" for your Eirtakon registration order in your "My Tickets" tab on the Eventbrite website. All refunds are made in full.

More detailed instructions are available on the Eventbrite website.

No refunds will be entertained once pre-registration has closed. Additionally, due to credit card processor limitations, refunds can not be made for registrations from more than six months prior.
