Who runs Eirtakon?

Eirtakon is run by the Eirtakon Committee - a dedicated group of volunteers who spend the best part of the year planning and organising the next Eirtakon; as well as ensuring all goes to plan on the weekend.

The committee is appointed by the Convention Director, who is chosen by the DCU Anime and Manga Society committee shortly after the previous Eirtakon.

Who is "Lori"?

Lori is the Eirtakon mascot. Created to respresent the very first Eirtakon in 2005, Lori has steadily evolved over the years as she matures and exhibits different styles and costumes. She has been drawn by our good friend Swissy ever since her creation.

What should I wear to Eirtakon?

Either come in your preferred cosplay, or just come in casual wear. There's is no dedicated dress code, although we do expect some common sense. Comfortable shoes are a necessity, as you will be doing a lot of walking or running around at the convention over the weekend.

Do bear in mind that it can get quite warm inside the convention centre - especially inside smaller rooms - so dress accordingly, and keep hydrated if necessary. Also, bear in mind the unpredictable Irish weather, so having a raincoat as backup is always helpful!
