Default How much involved are you in the anime subculture?

I am just wondering as I tend to browse danny choo's blog and figure.fm alot and is wondering is there many people around here very much involved in the anime/otaku subculture eg cosplay, collect figurines, takes photos of figurines, into dolfies, go to anime related events and cons, do manga art ect or just watch anime and read manga and that is it?

For me I watch my anime and read some manga but I also collect figures, cosplay (my main interest), go to cons, anime related events. I am beginning to get into dolfies, figurine photography and other aspects of anime culture.

    Just curious.

I watch anime and read a few manga. If the music in an anime really impresses me, I'll grab the soundtrack.

I have a couple of toy robots, but I probably won'y get any more. I've helped out organising anime conventions, but I'm not sure if I'd ever go to one otherwise.

For me, it's mainly just the anime. I don't really see much to attract me to the majority of this subculture. And besides, I have other hobbies.

I'm into anime, manga, cosplay and attend every single con I can afford the ticket, time, and travel.

My parents already kill me for buying anime box sets, so I don't buy many figurines aside from keychains. I do take shots of them but I've the photography skills of a raccoon. I also have the drawing skills of a chimpanzee, although I'm trying to evolve.

Reading manga, watching anime, and I've recently started to collect figurines. Only cons I bother going to are the ones that can be reached by bus, and not making me go on a journey that lasts hours to get to.

    Dollfies just look fucking creepy.

Not heavily as such, but more than enough to say that I am. I've got a little bit of everything, from Gunpla, to figures to series boxed sets. Regular con-staffer, but I've never actually attended one... funny that.

    A ball jointed doll.

I got my first recently. God I want to buy another.

I'd consider myself fairly heavily submerged in the fan culture. I cosplay, collect figures and now dollfies and have an ever increasing dvd collection.

They really are so pretty. I got into them because of browsing figure.fm.

I want to model as them. I think I am the opposite to alot of people here, I am more into the anime fan culture then the anime itself but then when it comes to Goth and industrial music and sub culture, I am more into the music and clothing then the culture. It is strange. Maybe I feel a more sense of belonging in the anime/manga subculture.
