So just buy your requested €18 weekend ticket on the morning of Saturday the 15th of november. Tickets to Eirtakon are not Limited but Eirtakon T-shirts are, so get to the Convention early to raise your chances of getting one. (you get a free Eirtakon T-shirt when you buy a €18 weekend ticket) you can also purchase a T-shirt if you're just buying a €12 one day entrance ticket or if you'd just like to have two.
Hi all, just a quick note, pre-registration for the convention closes today, the 24th of October.
We've had a massive response with nearly 300 people pre-registering for the convention this year, five or six times the number that pre-regged last year.
If you haven't received a receipt for your registration, don't fret! We'll be working through the rest of them over the weekend!
You will still be able to register on the day, but it's quite likely all the t-shirt stock will be gone. If pre-registered people don't collect by the Sunday, we'll be giving away their T-shirts and packs to attendees, so if you've pre-registered, make sure you show up, and if you're not pre-registered, make sure you stick around on Sunday :)
Welcome to the website of EirtaKon 2008, the largest ( and, well, only ;) ) anime convention in the Republic of Ireland. EirtaKon is now in it's fourth year.
Every year the Anime & Manga society of Dublin City University works with members of eirtaku.com to deliver an event where all the anime fans in the country (and outside the country!) can come together under a united passion for anime and manga. This event caters to a broad audience of people who like to watch anime, read manga, play games and dress up in all sorts of costumes, where people can watch anime, buy from retailers who come from around the country (and the world!) and most importantly, meet up with people who share their interests :)
This year a special guest from the anime industry will be visiting the convention, Vic Mignogna (voice of Edward Elric from FMA amongst others).
Closer to the date of the convention we'll be putting up a timetable of events and showings to help you organise yourself (this will be in the convention booklet too), so keep checking back.
You can pre-register for the convention this year (limited time only, so get your registration in!) to make your registration at the convention smoother and get that all important con T-shirt.
Pre-registration is now closed. You can still register on the day of the convention at the registration desk.
The event is held in the student centre (The Hub) of Dublin City University in Dublin 9. More information on getting to the college can be found here.
If you're from outside of Dublin you can find a list of potential accommodations here.
The event is held from the 14th to the 16th of November this year, passes for the event are €12 for one day and €18 for the weekend.
If you have questions or want to talk to the staff and attendees of EirtaKon, visit our forums (you must register an account on eirtaku.com to post).
We hope to see you at the convention this year!
Due to the overwhelming response to our pre-registration option, we're currently a little backlogged on responding to attendees.
Apologies for the delay, we will be getting back to you as soon as possible!
Pre-Registration for Eirtakon 2008 is now online.
Tickets prices are €18 for a weekend ticket and €12 for a one day pass
The Eirtakon committee has announced the return of our hugely sucessful Bring N Buy zone, first introduced at Eirtakon 07 MK II last November.
The rules are simple enough - If you have stuff to sell and think you can fill a table with it, get in touch with us! You will have to register at the front desk (this is simply so we know how much space we need) and you will also be subject to the same rules as the traders which are:
1 - No Bootlegs! All merchandise must me officially licensed products, we will be willing to make exceptions for fan works but they must be approved first.
Eirtakon 08 is pleased to announce our first annual Anime Music Video (AMV) Competition! The competition will run as part of Eirtakon 08, to be held in The Hub in Dublin City University on the weekend of November 14th-16th.
AMVs are a popular form of fan work that involves taking scenes from anime and editing them together and setting them to music, providing the perfect setting for anime fans to show how in tune they are with their favourite shows!
